Financial Aid

Financial Aid

The financial commitment and sacrifice families undertake in deciding to send their children to a Catholic school is understood and appreciated. Although paying for education is, first and foremost, the responsibility of a family, each school, parish and the Archdiocese of Baltimore devote significant funds each year to financial aid programs that help assist families. In turn, our school communities benefit by attracting students that otherwise would not be able to attend our schools.

There are multiple potential sources of financial aid to assist families in making a Catholic education a reality. To be considered for financial aid from the Archdiocese, the parish or the school, a family must submit an online application through FACTS. FACTS provides a need-based analysis to the Archdiocese, the parish, and the school for their use in determining grant awards to new and current families.

The deadline to submit an application through FACTS is February 28 prior to the fall school year start.

Available Grants & Scholarships

Archdiocese of Baltimore Grants

Priorities for tuition assistance are:

  • Previous award recipients who still demonstrate financial need and attend an AOB Catholic School
  • New awardees in an AOB Catholic School with great financial need
  • Previous award recipients who still demonstrate financial need and attend a non-AOB Catholic School
  • Remaining applicants in any Catholic school with demonstrated financial need

Archdiocesan financial aid generally comes from two funding sources: the Partners in Excellence Program and the Archdiocese of Baltimore School Fund. Grants awarded by the Archdiocese are renewed annually for the child’s entire K-12 Catholic education as long as the family is still eligible. A financial grant may apply to each student, so a family with several children in the school, or in various Catholic schools in the Archdiocese, could receive a grant for each child.

St. John the Evangelist Parish Grant

In order to qualify for a parish grant, the family must be an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Parish who demonstrates financial need, a discernible donation of time and talents in support of the parish, as well as regular attendance at Mass. The continuance of the award is contingent upon active participation in the parish and payment in full of all prior year outstanding tuition. Please complete a letter addressed to Father Pete Literal and submit with this application form attached. These forms should be submitted via mail or handed-in (hard copy) to Fr. Pete Literal by February 28.
